Last week I had a meeting with my dissertation advisor, Alan Fogel, and he had some anatomy pictures on his computer screen related the “Vagus.” I have to admit, I do not know much about the Vagus and I never found out why Alan was looking at the pictures – perhaps in relation to a new book he is writing. Alan and I will be having podcast-conversation in a few days, I will be sure to ask him what he is up to – other than nagging me to get my dissertation done.

Coincidentally, I bumped into a website this morning that mentions Moshe Feldenkrais, the Vagus (Vagal Stimulation) and Depression…as well as a reference to Anna Nicole Smith. I’ll let you make the connections yourself at this man’s website. I will simply post his quotation by Dr. Feldenkrais:

“Find your true weakness and surrender to it. Therein lies the path to genius. Most people spend their lives using their strengths to overcome or cover up their weaknesses. Those few who use their strengths to incorporate their weaknesses, who don’t divide themselves, those people are very rare.”
