Feldenkrais Podcast #7 : Josef Dellagrotte. Welcome Rolfers and Structural Integration Practitioners
I want to give a hearty welcome on Feldenkrais Podcasts to Josef Dellagrotte, who agreed to speak with me on just a moments notice. With a Rolfer soon to be on Oprah, I thought it would be nice to speak with an individual who had trained with both Ida Rolf and Moshe Feldenkrais.
Josef makes a number of interesting and provactive points in our conversation, and I imagine that there are some who will find that this podcast stimulates dialogue.
In our podcast, Josef give his impression of Ida Rolf, who he describes as a genius, and also explains why he left his training with her to study directly with Moshe Feldenkrais.
He also makes reference to what he calls the “tree of somatic science” - a field that to him includes Feldenkrais, Rolfing, Trager, Feldenkrais, and Hanna Somatics among others.

Comments on Feldenkrais Podcast #7 : Josef Dellagrotte. Welcome Rolfers and Structural Integration Practitioners
I should probably make two small clarifications about this podcast. Near the end, I mention a new edition of an Infant Development textbook that I am revising with Alan Fogel. I noted that there were some Feldenkrais, Awareness Through Movement lessons in the book that were inserted with the help of Mark Reese. I was speaking to the previous edition of the book, not the soon-to-be-released version.
The new version of the Infancy textbook will have Awareness Through Movement lesssons recorded by me, as well as “experiential” lessons created by Dr. Fogel.
