Hi Ryan,
This is delightful; restores one’s faith in human learning and how much curiosity and gusto is involved–I’m going down on all fours and see if I can get some of that back!

these little creatures look scary, as if they set out to take over the world and bring chaos.
To whom it may concern: Congratulations! This is the most illuminating developmental clip I have come across since I started Feldenkrais work with infants with cerebral palsy. It brings home how much learning through experimenting, in other words, hard work is required by healthy infants to progress from lying to crawling in preparation to standing upright and walking. Even those of us who have children who as babies naturally “went through” this stage are amazed at these captured sequences. This will be invaluable to show to impatient or even discouraged parents whose babies have an extra hard job ahead of them but one that with the help of a Feldenkrais practitioner can be turned into success.
Many, many thanks!

Ryan,
Excellent video! I think this will be fun to show the parents of the kids I work with. We sometimes spend too much time stopping them from falling, instead of making falling safe. It is so fun to see the beauty of how a baby learns and explores. I liked the comments and observation of how babies learn to crawl on a slippery floor. I have found this to be a special challenge these days. Marge
“Get it wrong and you’re in reverse.” Says it all.
Thanks Ryan, great clip, are there details on what this is from?
Anyway to see more of Baby’s world? I couldn’t hear audio for the last half or so, is that on the original? Lemme know if you get a chance.
